| I thought it would be a good idea to create a thread for anyone interested in creating their own sigs, avatars, clan art and such. This thread is for posting tips, tricks and resources for creating digital art as well as asking questions. Obviously Hatchet has alot of experience with this and he is self taught so I'm sure he'll have alot to add and I've been creating sigs and whatnot for a little while now. I'll be updating this first post regularly with everyone's suggestions and input, so check back soon for more info.

GIMP is a great alternative to Adobe Photoshop that is almost identicle in what it allows you to do and it's free! Click on the link to go to the download page.

Renders
Renders are basically a piece of a picture cut out of the main image so you can use just that piece in a new image your creating. An example would be if you had a picture of a knife sitting on a table, you could cut the knife out of the picture and just use the image of the knife in another picture. I believe this is how Hatchet gives each of us a different weapon on the clans home page. The following are good sites to download pre-made renders. I'll also post how to create your own renders in the future.

Brushes
Brushes are tools that you use in GIMP or Photoshop that allow you to create different affects such as blood splatters, light effects, fire, etc.... Below are some good sites to download different brush's that create alot of different effects.
